Emmanuel Kibet (Kenya Mission)

On a small family farm in Bomet, where my transformation journey began

Working in Nairobi during a season of intense pressure and long working hours - 2022

I am from Sachangwan, Kapkwen, Bomet County, Kenya. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in my country alongside Pastor Ben Valentine and Seekers Hope Church in Kola, Kenya. I love sharing about Jesus and how He has changed my life.

My walk with jesus

Receiving Jesus as My Lord and Savior

In 2022, my life took an unexpected turn. Prolonged work pressure and long hours while freelancing in Nairobi led to intense stress that gradually developed into unusual psychological and neurological symptoms that deeply unsettled me.

Concerned, I sought medical help and was referred to a neurosurgeon due to the limited number of neurologists in the country. After MRI scans of my brain and spine, I was relieved to learn there were no tumors or structural issues.

However, the medication prescribed to manage the stress worsened my condition. I later discovered I was allergic to some of the drug components and stopped the treatment immediately. For nearly a year (2022-2023), I lived with the symptoms; physically strained, mentally exhausted, and searching for answers beyond medicine.

That difficult season became a turning point. I began confronting the deeper condition of my soul. But it wasn’t until mid-2023 that I decided to relocate from Nairobi and to stay in a small family farm house in Bomet County. It was during this period that I decided to be serious with my spiritual life.

Being raised a Christian, I knew what to do. I repented of my sins and made a deliberate decision to surrender my life to Jesus Christ. Rather than looking only for external solutions, I committed to rebuilding my spiritual life through consistent prayer, Scripture, and learning from faithful teachers such as Billy Graham (archived sermons), Pastor Gary Hamrick (Cornerstone Chapel) and Dr. David Jeremiah.

For 2+ years, I spent time alone in prayer, studying the Bible, and allowing God to restore my heart and mind.

What began as a crisis became a calling. God used my weakness to draw me closer to Himself, and my life has not been the same since.

Growing in Christ

My faith moved from inherited belief to personal conviction. During that season of physical and emotional strain, I became intentional about repentance, prayer, and submitting my life to Christ’s lordship. I began engaging Scripture daily; not simply for knowledge, but for transformation, allowing God’s Word to correct and shape my thinking.

I committed to living out my faith in practical ways: integrity in work, humility in relationships, and dependence on God rather than self-effort.

Growth for me has meant learning to trust Christ in weakness. I am still growing, but my desire now is to know Him deeply, follow Him faithfully, and serve others for His glory.

Serving and Fellowship

Today, I am grateful to serve in my community alongside fellow believers, especially through small youth fellowship gatherings after Sunday services. We share Scripture, pray together, and encourage one another to remain strong in faith while supporting our families and community. These moments remind me that the Christian walk is not meant to be lived alone, but in fellowship, accountability, and love.

Baptism

As my faith has matured, I have come to a personal and conscious commitment to Jesus Christ through repentance and discipleship. While Christians differ on the timing of baptism, I fully affirm its meaning as identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and I seek to live out that reality daily through obedience and service.
